Marcia Kent, MD

Marcia joined the Psychiatry staff at Olin Health Center in February of 2015.  She was raised on a farm in rural mid-Michigan, lived in Seattle for 12 years and returned to Michigan in 2012.  Marcia enjoys biking, sailing/boating, crafting and decorating. She likes to stay busy and enjoys spending time with her three boys. Dr. Kent is board-certified through ABPN in Adult, Child/Adolescent, and Forensic Psychiatry.

  • Spring Arbor College, B.A. Biology and Chemistry summa cum laude
  • Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, MD

Professional Interests:

  • Getting patients with complex needs on simpler medication regiments that are more effective.
  • Students struggling with anxiety/depression, self-harm/suicidal thoughts
  • Teaching skills to manage panic attacks, aggression, and urges to self-harm
  • Approaching students holistically, considering the biological, psychological, social, spiritual, developmental and cultural aspects contributing to their presenting concerns, to develop a plan that optimizes strengths and healthy choices and supports the individual.
