Crisis support for faculty/staff 

  • 24/7 crisis support is available through Community Mental Health (Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties) at 517-346-8460. 

  • Additional crisis support lines that are available 24/7 include the Disaster Distress Helpline at 800-985-5990 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.

  • MSU Health Care Psychiatry also offers services to the campus community. The clinic is located at 909 Wilson Road, Room B119. Call 517-353-3070 Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Check with your insurance provider to confirm what services are covered under your plan.

 

The Employee Assistance Program offers confidential counseling service provided at no cost to MSU faculty, staff, retirees, graduate assistants, and their families. In order to access services, individuals must be located in the state of Michigan due to licensing regulations.

ThrivingCampus has updated their system so that users can filter for community providers who are available to offer crisis services to the MSU community.
  Students, staff, faculty, families and community members can access the website at msu.thrivingcampus.com at any time to see off-campus mental health care options. Filters by identity, practice area, insurance and other factors are also available.

The arts at MSU can help provide creative outlets for our emotions or help us recharge. Here is a list of resources and activities that support wellness, encourage mindfulness and allow us to take time out of our day to care for our full selves. Several Art and Wellness offerings are available free to students.
